| Good Will Ambassadors
of an event, handshaking & welcoming
visitors …a WOW factor at the entrance
Distribution channels – they can distribute schedules, maps,
flyers, promotions, sponsors’ literature Mobile Information Booths – particularly useful when there is
not one set entrance to an event, they answer people’s questions
about where to go for what and at what time Historians – telling festival guests tidbits of the festival’s
history and longevity Comedians – they joke with the crowd, they’re
always after a good laugh
Amusement – they may do pocket magic, jump rope, hula hoop, balloon animals,
puppets or other prop antics, even sing-a-longs or dance-a-longs,
etc. They are sort of “hit-n-run” entertainment!
Clowns are to kids …what Stilt walkers are to adults Emcees – they can be on-call to announce what’s happening
at a stage or introduce an entertainment act and they can even help “fill” when
there are stage delays Traffic control – urging
people to funnel here or there, particularly for parade preparation Crowd control – disbanding crowds gathered around a bad incident …you
may even call their cell phone to have them move to somewhere to help
deal with a situation Re-direct when visitors
need to go elsewhere due to a printing error or otherwise a location
change, they become the “town crier” shouting
directions when needing to move or gather people Moving
decorations – dressed in costume, so event patrons will
take their pictures with stilt walkers Roving
advertisements – they can wear sponsors’ logo/sign,
etc. (i.e. “Eat at Joe’s”) A
resource for ALL of your committee event planners to utilize …plus
